Luxury Travel Advisor, October 2006 The Pulse: Cottage Living in California. If your clients rave about Miami's Asian-inspired Setai in South Beach, consider booking a getaway for them at The Heritage House (www.heritagehouseinn.com) on California's Mendocino Coast. As General Hotel Management's second U.S. property, The Heritage House became a member of The Leading Hotels of the World in June. Jaya Ibrahim, who applied his creative vision at The Setai, has redesigned the 19th century boutique hotel, which was scheduled to debut its renovation and restoration this month. With stunning views of the ocean, each of the redesigned cottage and guest rooms—there are 47 guest rooms spread across 20 cottages—boasts Asian touches and modern amenities (phones and televisions are new additions), not to mention a spa now run by ESPA. Look for phase two of the renovation to include an infinity pool and a new spa facility. With its secluded location on the coast (a three-hour drive from San Francisco), The Heritage House is considering adding air taxi service from Oakland to Little River Airport, which services private jets and is only a five-minute drive from the property.
